Dear City Manager Ochoa
I have a question that goes unanswered
Why should fees charged for water and electric on my utility bill be used to fund General Government???
So, I’m charged for water and electric on my utility bill…oh, wait, you’re not just charging me for water and electric? You’re also billing me for shortages in the City budget for other City Departments?? So, are you like billing me for a bunch of City services under the name of the utility? And that’s OK with you and how you manage the City??
I’m so confused!! So, that portion of my utility bill that charges for water and electric is also charging for other City services?? Funny, it doesn’t mention that on the bill.
I always thought funding like that was called taxes and required a vote of the citizens.
Have you have taken my right to vote on tax increases away from me???
You mention:
“…if you have bad facts then try your case in the court of public opinion.”
Isn’t this exactly what you are doing with your editorials in the Glendale News Press and on the City’s web site???
No, Mr. Ochoa, the law suit that Mr. Zavos and the Glendale Coalition For Better Government has initiated will not be tried in the “court of public opinion”. It will be tried in a court room in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
And since when is asking the City to obey the law as you call it, “doomsday politics”? “Doomsday”?? Really, who thinks up these buzz words?
And lastly, you question, “…how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.”, which you ask to equate our law suit to wasting time debating topics of no practical value. Well, I guess the Superior Court Judge will decide that.
