Failure to Inform Suspected in leading to the Termination of Anaheim City Manager.
Failure to properly inform city council is suspected in Anaheim city council asking for the resignation of the city manager. City managers should be on notice in avoiding double talk and answering
the questions as succinctly as possible.
The OC Register reported today that The Anaheim City Council met Tuesday in closed session and, on a split 4-3 vote, requested and accepted City Manager Paul Emery’s resignation
The Mayor had brought up the public employee resignation, release or dismissal item on the agenda without specifying the employee.
Earlier this year, the council cut Emery’s authority to approve city contracts up to $100,000 to $50,000. The Mayor had previously criticized Emery for not informing him about Anaheim’s deal with Disneyland to extend a moratorium on a gate tax in exchange for Disney to spend up to $1.5 billion in upgrades.
